Choosing your DJ
When choosing a proper Wedding DJ, many factors come into play. Professionalism, Experience, and Technical skill (being able to mix music) are the bare minimum. We’ve done thousands of events over the years and although we push buttons, we aren’t button pushers. Don’t get stuck with a DJ who has no nightlife experience, gigs maybe 25 times a year and plays full songs. Our 3 top Senior DJs all have a minimum of 10 years experince in Orlando’s nightlife scene. Downtown Orlando to I-Drive to Universal and Disney Springs. Over 60 years combined! Equipment is another major role, we take pride in buying the best of the best. ElectroVoice, Shure, Photobooth Supply Co, Pioneer and more!
Professionalism is key, an element that takes many forms. From first contact, to effective correspondence, to day-of etiquette. Be sure to hire a DJ that can represent him/her self in a manner that you personally approve of. You need someone who can effectively communicate with you from day one all the way to the wedding itself. DJs must work efficiently and effectively with multiple parties for it to be a success. Photographers and videographers need to be notified before important events so said events are captured. We work alongside planners to help stay on time. Venue and catering teams equally share their importance.
Experience plays a major role in not only effectively meeting certain guidelines mentioned above, but more importantly, in the wedding itself. A DJ without wedding experience cannot DJ a wedding. I mean, they can technically, but it rarely goes as you expected. Weddings are their own form of magic. It takes experience to understand the flow. Punctuality and communication to stay on time. Then the art of DJing to keep the party moving forward and fun. Wedding experience not only plays a role on event day, but also in the planning process itself. We have custom paperwork to make your life easy in deciding how you want your day to go, and what you choose it to include.
Your DJs Ability to DJ/ MC is an obvious necessity. Time in this game is whats needed to shine in the field. Personally, our entire team has been DJing 2009 or longer. This grants us the experience to master our equipment, have a broad understanding of music, and know how and when to effectively change/ blend different styles of music. All of us started out in nightlife. I know we’ve mentioned that more than once, but that is the difference between 25 gigs a year and 250. A 5 night a week residency mixed in with private events is a true full-time DJ. Don’t hire a part timer for your biggest day! On top of the physical DJing, we also grew up hosting events/ karaoke/ bar trivia/ etc, making us all very strong MCs. Some of us still have weekly residencies, further benefiting you. Keeps us currently engaged with reading people and crowds, updating music libraries and furthering our skills as DJs and MCs. Contact us today, and ask questions!
